GENERAL ELECTION FEVER AT REDDAM HOUSE BERKSHIRE

09 June 2017

The pupils of Reddam House Berkshire were at the centre of the political action on Thursday, 6th June as they staged their own General Election. Whilst they might have been too young to vote, they felt passionately that the decisions being made today, by those over eighteen, would impact on their future lives in the next 5 years.
The Year 9 students took the lead and organised themselves into teams to represent the major parties of the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats, UKIP and the Green Party.
Each group had a minute to pitch their take on the manifesto and policies of the party they represented before Mrs Holsgrove-Jones gave them a Paxman-style grilling on a diverse range of topics from immigration to home-building.
Just like the real General Election, the results of the final vote by the whole school community will be announced on Friday, although a little later in the morning!
