JOINING THE REDDAM HOUSE FAMILY


Entry to any year group is determined through academic assessment, which is incorporated within a taster visit. This may be a very gentle, informal testing within the classroom or a written assessment, depending upon the age of the child.

Our aim is to identify those children who we believe will thrive on our style of education and who will make the most of the opportunities offered to them while they are with us. In short, we are looking for the best possible fit, academically, socially and pastorally, for your child.

WHEN TO JOIN THE SCHOOL


Children may join our Early Learning School at any age from 3 months and we take applications at all points in the year.

The main points for entry to the Junior School are Stage 5 (4+), Year 3 (7+) and Year 5 (9+).

In the Seniors, we have an entry point at Year 7 (11+) and again into Year 9 (13+).

It may be possible to join the school at other times, either as a day pupil or boarder, subject to places being available.

Our ELS, Junior and Senior Schools are quite small and friendly; settling in is very easy for the new students who join us - and for their parents, too! It begins from the taster day, when a current pupil will be waiting to introduce him or her self and take care of the guest for the whole day, help him or her to meet the other students and to find his way around the school. This provision of a ‘buddy’ continues when your child joins our school and very quickly he or she becomes very familiar with classmates, teachers and the life of the school.

YEAR 7 AND 9 ENTRANCE TESTING


The entrance testing days for September 2018 entry into Years 7 & 9 will take place as follows:

Year 7 – Saturday 25th November

Year 9 – Saturday 20th January
