An excellent A/A* pass rate (40%), with our best-ever results in 2019, show that our Sixth Formers are consistent high achievers - but academic success isn’t all we focus on; we ensure our students are confident and happy by providing a warm, inclusive school community for everyone, whether they are new here, or continuing on from our senior school. Our students are respected and celebrated as individuals, with unique skills, traits and attributes. The vast majority of our students leave to go on to higher education, with recent destinations including Cambridge, UCL, Manchester and other top UK universities.
Our skilled, knowledgeable staff give outstanding support to students negotiating this vital educational stage. They help students as they study for and undertake exams, reflect on their learning and explore a pathway for their future. They also help as students tackle university applications; we assist and encourage at every stage to lift UCAS applications via performing arts qualifications, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and leadership opportunities available in the Combined Cadet Force and other activities. We also help students to build a CV and develop a strong personal statement.
We give responsibility to our older students to ensure they are good role models for younger students - and that they are prepared for life. We have a Sixth Form Judiciary, voted for by peers, who are ambassadors for our school and representatives of our student body, however, all students are expected to take part in leadership activities and to take a full and active part in the life of the school. Many of our older students run clubs and activities for the younger ones and are seen as inspiring role models by them.
Sixth Form really is the final stage of the student’s journey through school. Whether students have been with us from a young age or they have joined in the Sixth Form, they will be able to take advantage of the help and teaching available from our strong and supportive staff body. In addition, they will learn and grow up together and make life-long friends. Reddam House is a happy community where students are helped to achieve the best that they can be. Although situated in an impressive Victorian mansion, our education is anything but traditional and we prepare students well for the modern world, where individuality and self-motivation are highly sought after. It’s like no other school I have worked in - it’s more of a family, with high levels of respect and understanding.
History, Economics, Chemistry:
Studying in sixth form at Reddam House enhanced my ability to work independently and allowed me to be successful even in subjects I wouldn’t originally have thought possible.
Physics, Chemistry, Computing, Maths:
I’ve found a very welcoming environment, with teachers and students helping each other when in need. It’s completely different from my previous school in Montenegro. I love to do A-Levels as I can do four subjects I’m really passionate about.
Amy Binns (Y12)
Chemistry, Biology, English, Business Studies, Geography:
My dream is to study veterinary science and I know that the teachers will support me in achieving my life goal. The excellent facilities have allowed me to enhance my science skills, making me feel like I can make the transition to university.
